Last week we announced a #grokbonanza giveaway where our users got the chance to show off what they’ve built using xAI’s Grok Code Fast model (currently free through Kilo Code, but not for much longer!). We saw some very cool submissions, and after some careful deliberation, we narrowed it down to our four winners!
Each winner built something that addressed a problem that they were personally dealing with and used their Kilo Code extension with Grok Code Fast to considerably speed up their process. It shouldn’t be a surprise, but we see many moments where talented and dedicated programmers tackle projects that would normally take them weeks or even months and reach their goals in a fraction of the time just by effectively utilizing AI. They’re still solving problems and creating solutions, but a coding assistant like Kilo Code has supercharged their efforts and we’re sharing some of these results here!
Join me as we step through these impressive projects! First up, one of our users and their team had been considering moving away from Wordpress over to Next.js;
A Complete Migration from WordPress to Next.js

Many of us know; WordPress can be…a lot. I remember my freelance days and a friend asked me to help his friends with a WordPress site they had. Cue some of the most frustrating two weeks I’ve ever experienced; I came out the other end like Robin Williams in Jumanji, frantically asking people what year it was.
This user told us that they had been deliberating on this task for months, but once they folded Kilo Code into their workflow and got started, they “did it in a week and added a cool feature to test the SEO of our website.”
The best part was the speed and accuracy with grok code. What was being thought about to do for months was done just in a week with grok code. All thanks to Kilo code team and definitely Grok code
I’ll be honest with you all, Younger Tirumari spent days messaging friends on Facebook to see if anyone had any insight on WordPress, hours googling questions, and even more hours scouring archived forums. I’m feeling a pang of jealousy here, but I’m mostly feeling proud for our first winner!
Speaking of scouring the internet, it sometimes feels like the internet has become so vast that finding what you’re looking for can prove pretty difficult. Even for those of us with honed Google-Fu. Our next winner had this problem with GitHub repositories, and decided to do something about it;
A GitHub Profile Explorer
This user wanted to be able to easily track and analyze GitHub profiles at a glance, and so he built ghRadar! I’ll let him describe it in his own words;
It all started with a simple idea: what if analyzing GitHub repos and profiles could feel as easy as checking the weather? I didn’t want endless manual searching. I wanted a radar for GitHub — something that instantly shows you what’s happening inside any repo or profile.
This project took him only four days from conception to completion! As someone who’s taught several coding bootcamp courses (shout-out to The Last Mile and Next Chapter) I had to make suree that students were familiar and comfortable with platforms like GitHub and GitLab. It was fundamental to their ability to find resources in the open-source space and appreciate their position in the community as a whole. I’ll be recommending this one to coding education folks for sure!
Now something I’ve always wanted to gain more experience in was mobile development. Our last two winners used Kilo Code and Grok to build themselves some mobile apps and once again it took them days to accomplish what could have been months of coding. One user wanted an iOS version of a popular Android app;
A Privacy-Oriented Period Tracker
Our user described their problem as such;
I wanted a simple privacy friendly rhythm tracker for iOS that was like Periodical from Android. Since none existed that worked the way I wanted or didn't collect disturbing amounts of user data I used Grok code to help speed up building my own.
My mobile development friends have told me many a time of how difficult mobile development can really be; you’re not just designing for several browsers, you got multilple devices and OS’s and all sorts of new roadblocks to deal with. This programmer said;
The beauty is certainly how fast it was to make, if I wanted to remake it I doubt it would take longer than a couple days.
We love to hear it! Finally, last but not least, this winner knew what we all know -scheduling is hard. So they built something to make it easier;
A Cross-Platform Event Tracker
Being able to design an app that works for you is honestly a dream of mine. Like being able to customize your car’s engine or hemming your own clothes. This user built a clean, no-frills event tracker that simply works, and had the following features;
Offline-first with persistent local storage,
Dashboard + Calendar view,
Search by title or date range,
Color-coded icons and countdowns
What was especially nice was how much Kilo and Grok really helped them out;
Grok helped me breeze through app structure, local data handling, and UI logic with almost zero debugging. Fast, efficient, and beginner-friendly.
[This is] Perfect for anyone who has a tight budget and wants to ship fast ⚡️ without backend complexity!
Thanks for the kind words, and please help me keep track of my social life!
Final Thoughts
Kilo Code is open-source and free, as we’re always saying. What’s great about that to me is how much this extension can completely change a programmer’s skillset and potential. Being able to code something you’ve always imagined is no longer a pipe dream; it’s a daily reality for our users, and we couldn’t be prouder!
Congratulations to our winners, you each win $100 in credits!! Thank you for using Kilo Code, and here’s to many more amazing projects!
Congratulations to all the winners? 🥳🏆
